The new $25m terminal expansion offers new arrivals and departure lounges, central café and retail hub, new public mezzanine viewing lounge, new AirNZ koro lounge expansion and fit-out and new HBAL office facility with boardroom. Structure comprised of all new and exposed structural steel portal frames incorporated into the fit-out and finishes. Local iwi and culturally designed carved ply line sections of the ceilings and walls creating a story throughout the building from end. This project grew along the way from making good existing structures to a brand new Airport Terminal for the Hawkes Bay region to enjoy.
